The sensation New York Fashion Week gives me is almost riveting. There is something oddly promising when watching the strobe lights flicker and models begin to descend the runway in peerless silk and lace combinations so magical Alice in Wonderland would need a lifetime to reclaim its spot in my childhood memories. From Victoria Beckham’s seamless collection to Tommy Hilfiger’s nautical inspiration, the only thing not attractive is the price tags swinging politely backstage.
Admittedly everything about it fascinates me particularly the pressure leading up to the day the collection is unveiled up until retail heavy weights copy paste bargain designs of similar trends and pour them onto the shelves for our sake. The spring/summer collections of 2014 introduced us to the white shirt trend; timeless yet egalitarian showcasing an embodiment of classic cuts that have the potential of altering the course of your life. Needless to say, underestimate the power of a classic white shirt at your own risk!
Whether you want to layer it up with men’s inspired pants or keep it chic in a skirt and pump pairing like Carolina Herrera or as a shirt dress, consider a white shirt as a wardrobe essential
…And in the words of Taylor Alison Swift, ‘it never runs out of style’.
Love and love,
