From the Fall/Winter collection 2014
It’s no secret that my ardent love affair with Donatella Versace hailed from a paltry obsession to recreate my sundry collection of Barbie dolls, gifted to me on a more regular basis by my mum who seemed to think I’d resort to baggy jeans and track suits for everyday ensembles. Well, not to aggrandize my style choices from way back when – but to say the least I was a swan living like a goose!
Maybe it’s the meticulous attention to detail, perhaps even the consistency in production of haute quality couture that keeps Angelina Jolie embodied in dazzling pieces and Rihanna oozing jaw dropping sex appeal that quite frankly is the epitome of success for any designer worth his name that has me glued to my screen collection after collection hopelessly fantasizing that a young 20 year old would walk the streets mummified in such stupefiant pieces; maybe someday when I’m 28 – for now all I have is this red bucket bag that I carry around on days like today when I feel like I have my life put together, and only because mama doesn’t realise it’s missing from her closet!
After my recently concluded review on this year’s Golden Globes red carpet, I simply couldn’t combat my incalculable desire to jot down my thoughts on this woman’s creations that are timeless and continue to portray the woman as an alluring sculptic creature that roams the earth with nothing but mystery left to fed your imagination!Over and out!
