Let’s take a minute and put a couple of things into perspective!
Picture this…it’s 1 A.M, your first time experiencing the magic that is snow kiss your numb Edwardy face, you are wearing a perfectly tailored Valentino thigh high dress holding on to your prince charming in a bid to suck out the heat from his arteries gazing hopelessly at the Eiffel tower and he finally leans in and whispers…forever!
Did you feel that? Your heart stop momentarily?
This year’s Paris spring/summer haute couture collection came with a lot of heart throbbing moments from some of my favourite designers who took to Paris to showcase with superb dexterity and mystic mastery, their craft.
From my all time favorite Elie Saab whose collection was nothing short of a fairy tale to Valentino who took us through space back in time to a time where ruffles and cossets were fashionable and far much more flattering; Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli seem to heavily crave my artistic vision when it comes to mixing literature appliqued onto delicate chiffons creating some sort of futuristic blend between literal arts and fashion! I should probably scream again…I don’t need a valentine hunie…I need me a Valentino!
Giorgio Armani’s oriental palette had me thinking about how much I’ve missed the sand caressing my toes; honestly if I had to pick a designer to dress me for a life defining meeting, Armani has my back! But let’s just talk about Raf Simons of bold aesthetic…I almost imagined myself in a Dior body suit and then I remembered I’m far from a size 2 *sips slim tea*
I’d probably take another 6 paragraphs to try and convert emotions into words but for the purpose of time and the fact that I have to be in a Commercial Accounts class in a couple of minutes I’ll just let you take it in…
